These Terms govern the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between iahtti (the “Company”) and users in connection with use of the iOS app Lumio (the “Service”).

Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms set out the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between the Company and users, and other necessary matters, regarding use of the Service.

Article 2 (Definitions)

  • “Service” means the Lumio iOS app provided by the Company and all related learning features connected to its servers and APIs.
  • “User” means a person who agrees to these Terms and uses the Service.
  • “Member” means a User who creates and uses an account through Sign in with Apple or another method designated by the Company.
  • “Credits” means in-service virtual currency charged, earned, and deducted for paid features such as AI card generation.
  • “Content” means all information created, stored, or shared in the Service by a User, including decks, cards, templates, text, and images.

Article 3 (Effect and Changes)

  1. These Terms take effect when posted on the Service screen or otherwise notified.
  2. The Company may amend these Terms within the scope of applicable law. Changes will be announced via the app or website at least 7 days before the effective date. Changes that are unfavorable to Users will be announced at least 30 days in advance.
  3. If a User continues to use the Service after a change takes effect, the User is deemed to have agreed to the amended Terms.

Article 4 (Service Contents)

The Company provides the following features. Details may change with app updates.

  • AI flashcard generation from photos, PDFs, text, and similar inputs
  • FSRS-based spaced repetition, deck and card management
  • Manual card creation, CSV/TSV import
  • Template library browsing, import, and sharing
  • Apple Watch integration, Home and Lock Screen widgets, notifications
  • Credit top-up and account management

Features the Company separately designates as free—such as FSRS review, manual card writing, and CSV import—may be provided without charge.

Article 5 (Eligibility and Accounts)

  1. The Service primarily targets the iPhone (iOS) environment. iPad, Mac, Android, and other platforms may be unsupported or limited.
  2. Some features—including AI card generation and credit top-up/use—require a Member signed in with Apple. Review and manual card writing may be available without sign-in.
  3. Users must manage their own Apple ID and devices. Users are responsible for account loss or unauthorized use.
  4. Users may request account deletion at any time through procedures provided by the Company, such as in-app settings.

Article 6 (Credits and Payments)

1. Payment method

  • Credits are offered as consumable products, not subscriptions.
  • Payments are made only through Apple in-app purchase (StoreKit 2).
  • Displayed prices and currencies may vary by App Store policy and the User’s storefront. The amount shown on the App Store is final.

2. Credit packages

Package Price (USD) Credits
Starter$0.9955
Basic$1.99260
Standard$4.99650
Pro$9.992,000

Actual credited amounts are determined by product IDs registered on the server.

3. Credit use

  • AI card generation: 3 credits per input unit (launch discount; regular 4 credits) — based on 1 photo, 1 PDF page, or about 3,000 characters of text
  • Importing a shared template: 1 credit per 10 cards (rounded up)
  • Credits may be deducted based on input volume regardless of the number of cards generated.

4. Sign-up benefits and bonuses

  • New sign-up (once after Sign in with Apple): 10 free credits
  • First-purchase bonus: 10% extra on credits from the first top-up (e.g., 55-credit package → 60 credits)
  • Bonus and event credits may change or end under Company policy.

5. Credit expiration

  • Unused credit balances expire 1 year after the most recent top-up (rolling).
  • A new top-up extends the expiration of remaining credits to 1 year.
  • Notifications may be provided 30 days and 7 days before expiration.
  • Expired credits are not restored or refunded.

Article 7 (Refunds)

  1. Credit purchases and refunds follow Apple App Store policies.
  2. Users may request refunds through Apple’s process. The Company will cooperate within the scope of Apple’s decisions and policies.
  3. Refunds may be limited for already used credits, bonus credits, or expired credits.
  4. Payment and refund inquiries: [email protected]

Article 8 (User Obligations)

Users must not:

  • Steal or misuse another person’s Apple ID, payment method, or account
  • Bypass, manipulate, or abuse the Service, APIs, payments, or credit systems
  • Upload or share content that infringes others’ copyrights or personal information
  • Post illegal, obscene, hateful, or spam advertising content in shared templates
  • Interfere with Service operations or overload systems with excessive requests
  • Violate applicable law or these Terms

Article 9 (Content and Intellectual Property)

  1. Intellectual property rights in the Service, including copyrights and trademarks, belong to the Company or rightful owners.
  2. Rights in Content created or uploaded by Users belong to those Users. However, the Company may use, store, and display such Content as needed to provide, operate, improve, and secure the Service.
  3. Text sent for AI card generation is not stored long-term on the server after generation is complete. See the Privacy Policy for details.
  4. By posting a shared template, a User agrees that other Users may import and use that template.

Article 10 (Shared Templates and Community)

  • The Company may unpublish or delete templates based on report accumulation or policy violations.
  • Importing a template deducts credits and may grant usage reward credits to the creator, subject to in-service notices.
  • Disputes between Users should primarily be resolved between the parties. The Company may mediate or take action within a reasonable scope.

Article 11 (Changes and Suspension)

  1. The Company may change or suspend all or part of the Service for operational or technical reasons.
  2. Material changes to paid features, Service termination, or other major impacts will be announced in advance.
  3. The Service may be temporarily interrupted by force majeure, including natural disasters, system failures, or partner/Apple outages. Except for willful misconduct or gross negligence, the Company is not liable for such interruptions.

Article 12 (Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability)

  1. The Company does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated cards. Learning outcomes and exam results are the User’s responsibility.
  2. Data sync and storage results may vary by device, iCloud, and Apple service environments.
  3. For free features, the Company may limit liability to the extent permitted by law.
  4. Except where liability cannot be limited by law, the Company’s damages shall not exceed the amounts the User paid in the preceding 3 months.

Article 13 (Account Deletion and Termination)

  1. Users may terminate the service agreement at any time via in-app account deletion.
  2. Upon account deletion, account, credit, and linked data stored on the server are deleted, and remaining credits are not restored.
  3. If a User violates these Terms or seriously disrupts operations, the Company may restrict use or terminate the agreement after prior notice.

Article 14 (Privacy)

The Company protects Users’ personal information under applicable law. Collection, use, and storage of personal information are governed by the Privacy Policy.

Article 15 (Governing Law and Dispute Resolution)

  1. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
  2. In the event of a dispute relating to the Service, the Company and the User shall endeavor in good faith to resolve it.
  3. If resolution is not reached, either party may file a lawsuit in a competent court under applicable law.
